Been sitting on this beer for a while and it needed to reviewed I would have gone off like a cut snake if I missed it. Mountain Goat for the most part seems to have merged with Asahi seamlessly and still produce the Pale Ale with quality as care. But straight to the review.

AROMA -5/10

FLAVOUR – 10/15

PALATE- 7/10

FINISH – 8/10

OVERALL – 35/50

Pours cloudy golden body as you can see from the picture, 2 finger head that is creamy white and hangs around. Little aroma on the noise, but what is does have is punchy orangery citrus, leafy resin & pine sap, but not much of a malt smell, not necessarily bad.

The carbonation is restrained but balanced. medium bodied that is easy on the palate. The malt flavours present a light malt sweetness and fruity flavours. On the long end of the palate I got a very nice spice like finish a woody pine sort of feel, followed by a nice dry finish.

I’m a little confused as to why on the back of the label they called it ‘an American style pale ale’ although I really enjoyed the beer it isn’t anywhere near as hoppy as you you expect from an American Pale Ale. All round this beer is super easy to drink and one that would be easy to share with friends.

Happy drinking.
